Expert Practitioner, Professor and Philanthropist Honored by the Oldest, Largest Independent Public Relations Association in the United States

PHILADELPHIA, PA, July 19, 2017 – Dr. Bill Cowen, Ed.D. Leadership, M.A. Public Relations, PRSA Counselors Academy, President and Owner of Metrospective Communications LLC, was inducted into the Philadelphia Public Relations Association (PPRA) Hall of Fame in June. Cowen is an internationally recognized practitioner, professor and philanthropist who has successfully served top agencies, Fortune 100 corporations, non-profits, entrepreneurial ventures, and academia. He is also a consistently sought-after academic and professional mentor, speaker, leadership coach, author and media source.

As an industry veteran of over 25 years, Cowen is founder of Metrospective Communications LLC, the Philadelphia-headquartered PR and strategic communication agency. In addition, he is a longtime member of the Communication faculty at Villanova University, where he is director of the PR program and the Villanova Communication Alumni Network. Bill is co-creator and a two-term Past-President of PR Boutiques International the world’s first network for boutique PR organizations. “Since 1972, PPRA has inducted select members of our professional public relations community into its Hall of Fame,” said Cowen. “I am so honored and grateful to be welcomed into this highly esteemed family of colleagues.”

Bill has also been the recipient of The Public Relations Society of America’s DeAnn White Award for Excellence in Community Service (animal welfare), numerous Pepperpot Awards, the Anthony J. Fulginiti Award for PR Educator of the Year, and the Frank X. Long Award for PR Practitioner of the Year. At Villanova University, he has been named an outstanding advisor for the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and recipient of the “Bridgebuilder Award,” a top honor for dedicated learning disabled student service. Bill also has won the Philadelphia Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40″Award as a prominent executive. Internationally, he is a two-time winner of the MarCom Creative Gold Award for strategic promotional campaigns.
